The Power of Positioning

To be positioned is to be strategically placed in a distinct location for a particular time and purpose.

As we study the scriptures, there is evidence of various leaders who having found themselves in difficult or unusual situations, realized that they were chosen instruments in God’s plan for His people. Among them were Queen Esther, one of the most famous heroines of the Bible (Esther 2:8-7:10), and Joseph who after being sold and thrown into prison became governor of Egypt (Gen. 37:3-45:8).

Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
(Esther 4:14 – NKJV)

positionIn this end time, God has people strategically placed in various systems of this world as agents of influence. As a master chess player, He will use these individuals at the perfect time. Take time to find out how God wants to use you in your sphere of influence and surrender to His will.  Never take for granted who you are and be ever cognizant of the fact that with God, nothing happens by chance. You must recognize who you are and whose you are. If you don’t, and others do, you leave yourself open to become prey to them that would seek to taint your testimony.  People will try to move you out of position or have you step away from your position by pumping you up in the flesh or trying to make you doubt your purpose and your position in Christ.

It is extremely important to understand your positioning from a Kingdom standpoint as the Kingdom of God does not operate according to the rules and standards of this world. As Kingdom people, we see things from a different perspective and we do not respond to things as the world would.  In fact, quite to the contrary, we are to be proactive and not reactive. As people of God, our positioning means that we have inroads to things that are happening through the reading of the Word, prayer, and prophetic insight. We must use them for the basis of all decisions. We walk by faith and not by sight and as a result we don’t have a hopeless view of things. We always trust our God to come through. People that have been strategically positioned by God need not jockey for position. For whether we hold the highest position or the most menial position according to man, God is the source of all things.

Have you ever wondered why you’re doing what you’re doing? You’ve prayed again and again for God to take you out of a particular situation, a new career, or a raise, and yet it seems that nothing is happening? Could it be that God has you positioned for a special purpose and time? People may sometimes look at you and decide that you should not have your position because in their opinion you are not qualified enough, you are not educated enough, or you simply don’t have enough experience. They talk negatively about you and try to discourage you. They will come to you with facts proving you are in the wrong place; you can’t buy into this! Only receive the truth, that when God supernaturally assigns you to a specific position, it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks, feels, does, or says. It doesn’t matter if you are trained or not. It doesn’t matter if you have experience or not. The only thing that matters is that God says it and therefore it is so! That being said, it is your responsibility to persevere until the word of God is fulfilled in your life so that you will receive all that is promised to you.

Be mindful, for whatever happens to you also has implications for those associated with you. Hence, as you make decisions regarding your assignment, you also make a decision regarding countless others attached to your destiny.

Sometimes we spend so much time trying to reposition ourselves because of our discomfort that we aren’t truly able to embrace where God has postured us and we end up aborting the great things God wants to do in and through us. Experience has taught me that whenever we feel pressed on every side, there’s resistance from our spouse, children, parents, colleagues, employers, etc. We tend to be oblivious to the fact that God is omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and still in control.

Thoughts:

  • Are you so busy trying to reposition yourself that you can’t see God’s plan?
  • What is it that God has positioned you for?
  • Are you standing postured?
  • Could what you be going through be a part of His process of readying you?
  • Are you prepared to wait at His throne for your next set of instructions?
  • Are you prepared to act upon God’s will as it is received?

Search for God in these situations because there is a good chance He is up to something and He has you in mind. I know because there are others that could not bear what you have to endure because God has that situation designed specifically for you.

You have been handpicked, positioned and assigned to walk the situation out.
