TBN Host and Recording Artist Carman Licciardello

The power of what can happen, when we have no plan B is revealed in this one-on-one interview with Carman. A truly inspirational spotlight and one that I believe will touch the hearts of many.

Carman shares on his latest project: No Plan B is a project  that I recorded while I was in treatment over the last 8 months, and you know how for every record project you’re always  looking for a title? Well, for me, there was nothing else I ever wanted to do, or any different road that I ever wanted to go down. For my life there is no plan B. I never positioned myself to say well I’m going to serve God and if that doesn’t work out well I’m going to be a police officer. I think there are people that can relate to that, they will follow the path God has chosen for their lives and for them, as well, there is no plan B.

Shares on the Album: Every song on the CD represents a different moment in time, and different thought process. There is one song called “Jesus Heal Me”, and it’s  a song about someone asking to be healed and there is another song called “I Did my Best” which is basically someone  saying through all my faults, and the things that

I may have done right or wrong, I did the best I could with what I had to work with. There is another song that I put a real Italian twist into, having grown up in New Jersey and having been around  the mafia, there is a concept of being a made man which means a lifetime member, so I used that concept and made a song called “I’m a God Made Man” because I really am a lifelong member.

On his Challenges: Valentine’s Day, last year 2013, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and didn’t even know what that was. I just knew that I had these crazy symptoms in body, and I realized it was a form of cancer and the doctors told me I only had a couple years to live.  I didn’t really know what to think at the time, you know you always want to think that you have all the time in the world, but the bible says there is an appointed time for every man to die then the judgment. So we don’t predict the times we make our exit and the only thing we have anything to do with is what we do while we are still here.

The Music Industry has changed, people want different types of music, and it happens to every artist somewhere along the way, where you do the same thing you’ve always done and sometimes the people are cheering and going crazy and other times they are like so what? I was in the so what period, for a time. So when the doctor gave me the news, I said ok, this is how I’m making my exit. Shortly after that, I heard from a friend I hadn’t heard from in like 20 years and he encouraged me to put out another record, and he convinced me that I had nothing to lose, and so that is exactly what we did. We both agreed that the expenses were great and opened up an avenue by which the public could contribute and they did, not only did we raise enough money to make the record, but to promote it, and put it out. Now, that we had all these things in place, and all systems were go, the treatment that I was in was not working and I was not making any progress and was getting worse. I had to then go to a specialist in Little Rock Arkansas who knew how to treat this particular strain to the exclusion of all other cancers. People from all over the world go there.

Once they accepted me in to their treatment program they said I would have to treat for 8 months solid.  Before I left, I started the project and I was able to get my lead vocals on and I was able to get us a quick photoshoot  and then we spend the rest of the time finishing up the record online and I was doing it from my bed and that’s how we finished it.

Sharing words of wisdom: For those struggling with their life’s purpose. I think the most important thing is to find what does the Lord want for you and what is in your heart to do? And get those two things to line up, because you have to have something to go to and do in order to fight to get there, you have to know where you’re going and what you’re fighting for, so every fight has to have a goal.

Determine what your goal is. What do you want to accomplish, and what do you want to do, and how does that line up with what God is speaking to you? You can have lots of goals, and you can have other people’s goals, but the only thing God is going to bless is the goals he gives to you. Just because you have an ability to do something doesn’t mean that is your life calling or career, the bible states that a man’s gift makes a way for him and brings him before great men. To make a way means, to actually be able to pay for bills, or make commerce, and make money at it. So if God has given you a specific gift he’s given it to you so that you can support yourself.  The gift is two-fold: to satisfy the gift that is inside of you and also to make provision for you. What do you do that you can make money at? Passion can distract you from your gift, there should be provision attached to it, so you have to find out, what have you ever done that you’ve made money at or can make money at?
